Pedagogy b4 Technology
This interactive three-day conference is designed for teachers who wish to learn more about the interplay between pedagogy and technology. Educators of all grades and subject areas will focus on the pedagogy afforded us by various applications of technology in support of student learning. Participants will leave with ideas and practical examples on how they can effectively apply the technologies to their classroom practice.
Respected Ontario educators Brenda Sherry and Peter Skillen will set the stage for the conference on Wednesday at noon, followed by an inspiring keynote address by Alan November, an internationally renowned educator. You will then enjoy breakout sessions hosted by experienced Ontario educators.On Thursday you will actively participate in the Minds on Media program with the support of those experienced Ontario educators. Relevant classroom examples, grounded in 21st century pedagogies, will be the central focus and will include:
You will also engage in: The Interplay: Pedagogy, Learning & Technology. This will be an interactive large group session led by Brenda and Peter. We will discuss deeper learning and powerful practices leveraged by the affordances of technologies. Also, we will examine the roles of teachers and students as we move collectively towards an understanding of global competencies.
On Friday morning, you will again enjoy breakout sessions hosted by experienced Ontario educators. Friday afternoon will close with a keynote from Leigh Cassell, a fantastic Ontario educator who will leave you inspired and ready to start the new school year with enthusiasm and strategies!
